Our Vocational School Held Its Graduation Ceremony for the 2025–2026 Academic Year

Our Vocational School held its graduation ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The graduation ceremony, held in the Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Conference Hall, was attended by our University’s General Secretary, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Demiray; our Director, Dr Bekir Doğan; and external stakeholders from our institution, including the President of the Tokat Bar Association, Volkan Bozkurt, Sinan Ardil, General Secretary of the Tokat Chamber of Commerce and Industry; our Vocational School’s Deputy Directors, Lecturer Kemal Ergün and Dr Bekir Doğan; our Vocational School Secretary Ümit Çukurçayır; our Department Chairs; academic and administrative staff; our students; their families; and invited guests.

Sudenur Dürükoğlu, a student from the Tourism and Hotel Management Programme who graduated with honours from our Vocational School, expressed in her speech the joy she felt at being a graduate of such a large family as the Tokat Vocational School. At the end of her speech, our student thanked our lecturers for sharing their knowledge and experience.

Certificates of achievement were presented to our students who graduated with honours by our University’s General Secretary, Prof. Dr. Muhittin Demiray; our Director, Dr. Lecturer Bekir Doğan; and our external partners, including the President of the Tokat Bar Association, Attorney Volkan Bozkurt, and the General Secretary of the Tokat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sinan Ardil.

Following the presentation of the certificate, our Director, Dr Bekir Doğan, stated in his speech that Tokat Vocational School, with approximately 2,462 students and 58 academic staff across 17 programmes in 13 departments, is one of the largest faculties within our University, and that, particularly in recent years, it has gained recognition for both its educational programmes and projects by enhancing school-industry collaboration. He also highlighted that our Culinary Arts Programme has made significant progress towards becoming a brand through the production of sourdough bread and gluten-free products under the ‘Vocational Training in the Workplace (2+2 & 3+1 education model)’ framework, utilising the TOGÜ Kitchen concept.

Our Director noted that, with the projects implemented during the 2025–2026 academic year at our Vocational School, nearly all of our programmes have transitioned to the 3+1 education model; and the accreditation of our Culinary Arts, Electronics Technology and Tourism and Hotel Management programmes by the MEDEK Accreditation body, before concluding his remarks by wishing our graduating students every success in their new lives.

Subsequently, certificates of achievement were presented by the Department Chairs to the students who ranked in the top three in each department of our Vocational School, followed by certificates of attendance at the graduation ceremony for all students on the programme.

At the conclusion of the graduation ceremony, we bid farewell to our students with the traditional cap-throwing ceremony.
